Camp info
Our program is not just about getting fit and losing weight, it's about what you can do with it. By reading our testimonial page it will give you an idea what to expect. All we require from you is commitment to us and yourself, an open mind to get out of your comfort zone and to have a real reason why you are here. “Just because I felt like it” is not fair on us and others around you.
Age, weight problems, health issues are not excuses, you're not the only one here with them. You must be willing to accept change and I am guessing that’s why you are reading this, but you must understand that yourself and commit to it. We will give you all the tools, advice and personal service you want but in the end it's you who will decide what you get out of it.
Q. Are all Bootcamps the same?
A. No, we originated the Bootcamp in Geelong with a program that took years in designing; our first camp took off in Feb. 2004 with 18 recruits growing to 165 in our 18th. In January 2008 we expanded with Recruit Camp for pure beginners and older adults. Our courses are very involved, we group everyone with others at the same level and that’s why we have a 100% success rate. We have no association with any other course in Geelong and they do not use our product. We supply a detailed manual with nutritional information, meal plans, recipes, exercise itinerary, stretching guidelines and all the information you need for true health and fitness. Please don’t treat the camp as a quick fix to a long term issue, we get great results and educate you on everything you need to know. We are recommended by Doctors, surgeons, nutritionists and therapeutic practitioners alike as we promote preventative exercise, injury prevention and regular check ups.
Q. What are the days and times?
A. Tuesday 6am, Thursday 7pm and Saturday 7am. We also run an alternate session on Thursday 6am for anyone who has work commitments or has a valid reason why they can’t make the pm session.
Q. What if I can’t do all the sessions?
A. You receive access to the club for the 5 weeks during camp, but as mentioned an alternate session is available on Thursday morning.
Q. I am very unfit and have never exercised, will I be able to do it?
A. Yes anyone of any fitness level can do it, everyone completes a basic fitness test which you do at your own pace. We do this to determine platoon level. This way you are always with recruits at your own level. With the addition of Recruitcamp absolutely any fitness level is catered for. We strongly recommend joining in our maintenance sessions first, these sessions run at the same time as the camp and are a great intro into the course. This way you can get some fitness base up and iron out any kinks or niggling injuries you may have.
Q. What sort of training is involved?
A. We teach recruits how to exercise using the environment. How to run properly and use their body properly. To build functional strength and endurance. This course is about true movement, not vibro plates or the latest bit of equipment. The exercises you will learn you can use anywhere anytime. All the activity is done outdoors and changes every session, no boredom, no mirrors, plenty of friends and fun.
Q. What sort of results should I expect?
A. We have had weight loss of up to 19kg and have increased the fitness level of every single person on the course. Your recovery from exercise will dramatically increase and also change in your muscle definition.
Q. I am very fit now will I get any benefit?
A. Welcome to platoon 1.
Q. What about shin splints etc.?
A. We recommend that you first go buy a pair of runners that suit your feet, not the nicest looking or expensive ones. Proper footwear can make all the difference. We also give first-timers a free 1/2 hour massage to Sports Medicine Massage as a start and recommend that you keep following up with them. We have used Bengt for a long time and have always received positive feedback and results with his work. Any other injuries you have will be noted by the instructors and steps taken for alternative exercise.
Q. What else?
A. The course is designed to be fun and challenging. We want for you to push yourself and see what can be achieved. You will soon learn that this course is not about exercise. Ditch all the lame excuses and give it your priority for 5 weeks. "Failure is not falling down, failure is not getting up".
